After a volatile few days at
Atlantic—where shock and awe, tinged with occasional anger, had been the emotional tenor—a new era of cooperation is said to be dawning as a peaceful transfer of power begins. The change in mood was facilitated by a town hall led by outgoing label CEO
Julie Greenwald.
The event, described as brief but emotional by intramural attendees, saw Greenwald acknowledge that she’d been fired and inform the assembled team that she’ll relinquish her CEO post on 10/1 and will serve as a consultant at the label through the end of the calendar year, after which time she will retire.
The news follows the announcement by
WMG boss
Robert Kyncl that
Elliot Grainge would be stepping into the CEO role at Atlantic and that
