WICKED SONGS TAKE FLIGHT AT STREAMERS

The Spotify and Apple Music charts are looking pretty Wicked as the film continues to sizzle at the box office.

At the Spot, seven tunes with vocals by Cynthia Erivo and/or Ariana Grande are enjoying big gains today (12/3), with "Defying Gravity" at #16, "What Is This Feeling?" at #30 and "Popular" at #36. The latter two were outside the Top 40 on Sunday.

Five Wicked songs are also in the Top 100 at Apple Music, led by "Defying Gravity" at #17, "What Is This Feeling?" at #37 and "Popular" at #39.

The Verve/Republic soundtrack to Wicked debuted yesterday at #2 on the HITS Top 50 with nearly 130k. The film itself became the highest-grossing movie based on a Broadway musical at the U.S. box office and has raked in more than $359m globally in its first two weekends.

Sadly, America's 1974 Oz-themed smash, "Tin Man," has yet to return to the charts, but HITS is still humming the chorus 50 years later.
