Parlophone’s Coldplay have been crowned the most-streamed band of all time on Spotify after reaching a total of 5b streams this week. What, even ahead of The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones, we hear you ask? Well, yes, it appears so.
More than 1b of that 5b were for the band’s latest album, A Head Full of Dreams. This week Coldplay were named Artist of the Year at the BBC Music Awards and have just completed the 2016 leg of their AHFOD Tour, which has sold more than 4.2m tickets and continues in Asia, Europe and North America in 2017.
To celebrate, an exclusive five-track collection of stripped back live recordings from a performance at Spotify HQ in London has been released. You’ll find it here.
