A gridlock remains on the U.K.’s Official Charts with The Greatest Showman soundtrack (Atlantic) clocking up its 10th week at #1 on 46k combined sales, while Drake tallies his eighth on singles with “God’s Plan” (Island). How many new #1s will there be in Blighty this year?
The only other album to spend so many consecutive weeks at #1 over the past 30 years is Adele’s 21 (XL), which did so for 11 weeks in 2011. The Greatest Showman is #1 on all counts: the most physically purchased, digitally downloaded and streamed album of the week. It far out-sold its nearest rival, Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Atlantic), by two copies to one.
Further down, this week’s highest new Official Albums entry is Calum Scott at #4 with his debut, Only Human (Capitol), followed by Judas Priest with Firepower (Columbia) at #5.
