U.K. CHARTS: JAMIE T SCORES FIRST #1
7/29/22

Jamie T claims his first U.K. #1 album with The Theory of Everything (Polydor). Having taken a six-year break between releases, it’s his fifth consecutive Top 5 LP.

Jack White’s second full-length release of the year, Entering Heaven Alive (Third Man), enters at #4, making it White’s fifth Top 5 studio album. It’s #2 on the Official Vinyl Albums chart, right behind The Theory of Everything. The Kooks10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark (Lonely Cat/AWAL) is #3 in vinyl, #32 overall.

Bananarama score their highest Official Albums Chart position in 34 years as their 12th studio LP, Masquerade (In Synk), hits #22.

Returning to Top 20 are The Weeknd’s hits collection The Highlights (Republic) at #5, the 2002 Elvis Presley compilation ELV1S–30 Number 1 Hits (RCA) at #13 and Sam Fender’s Seventeen Going Under (Polydor) at #19.

At singles, LF System’s “Afraid To Feel” (Warner) registers its fourth week at #1 on 49k chart sales, which includes 5.4m streams. It’s also the most downloaded song of the week.

This week’s highest new entry comes from Central Cee, whose ADA-distributed “Doja” debuts at #2, the Shepherd’s Bush rapper’s highest-charting single ever.

Hitting new peaks are OneRepublic’s Top Gun: Maverick track “I Ain’t Worried” (Polydor) at #12; Sigala and Talia Mar’s Love Island anthem “Stay The Night” (Ministry of Sound) at #14; and Steve Lacy’s “Bad Habit” (L-M/RCA) at #18.
