Glyn Aikins, co-president of Sony U.K. label Since 93, describes Russ Millions as “the premier hitmaker” from the U.K.’s drill rap scene. The artist delivered the first Top 10 hits for the genre in 2019, with “Gun Lean” and “Keisha & Becky,” later following that up with “Body” f/Tion Wayne, which spent three weeks at #1 on the U.K.’s singles chart in 2021. The latter was the first drill song to hit the top of the chart.
Since then, Millions has signed to Since 93 in a collaborative deal with Dream Life Records—a first for Sony Music U.K.
“The first meeting with Russ was possibly one of the most memorable, as we spent most of it talking about the musical career of Michael Jackson and how he wanted to emulate it,” Aikins remembers. “Coupled with his tireless work ethic—he is always in the studio recording—we signed him immediately.” Aikins says these qualities and the artist’s ambition to be an “all-round-entertainer” are what make him special.
In September, Millions released “Pisces” with rap duo Krept & Konan, and there’s one more single on the way before he releases a full-length project in January 2023. From that, expect plenty of Millions’ “signature catchy anthems, which will be impossible to get out of your head,” Aikins says. Alongside the singles, there will be engaging visuals to captivate fans. “This project will prove to people why Russ is one of a kind,” Aikins concludes.
