The RIAA has made math Carrie Underwood’s favorite subject. A rash of new RIAA album certifications of Underwood’s 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville catalogue have made her the most-certified country album artist to debut this century.
Underwood’s 2005 debut Some Hearts now stands at 8 million the highest album certification of any country artist to emerge since 2000. Underwood’s 2015 Storyteller has been certified Platinum; Blown Away is now 2x Platinum; Play On is 3x Platinum; and Carnival Ride is 4x Platinum).
Underwood is also the current Top Country Artist on the RIAA’s Digital Single Ranking with 28m download sales, putting her in the Top 5 females across all genres. Sony Music executives broke the news to her on the occasion of her sold-out show at Madison Square Garden.
Currently on tour, Underwood will co-host the 50th Annual CMA Awards from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena with Brad Paisley on 11/2.
