Sony Music Nashville and WME celebrated Women’s History Month with a one-night-only concert event last night (3/11). Buzzing newcomers Carlton Anderson, Robert Counts, Hannah Dasher, Seaforth and Rachel Wammack performed powerful tributes to some of the most impactful artists in country music. See, when Wammack, whose two-song set included Deana Carter’s “Strawberry Wine,” sings of booze, it makes an important difference. When we do it, it's just a typical Tuesday afternoon. Granted, she also has the benefit of sounding like an angel, while our vocal stylings are more akin to that of a dying cow.
Female students from Pearl-Cohn Entertainment Magnet High School’s Academy of Entertainment Industry were invited as guests, and a substantial amount of money was raised for She Is The Music, "a nonprofit organization increasing the number of women working in music – songwriters, engineers, producers, artists and industry professionals."
