Capitol Nashville’s Keith Urban hits the refresh button on a new version of his single “We Were,” with the help of fellow country artist and friend Eric Church (EMI Nashville).
Four-time Grammy award-winner, CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year Urban first released “We Were,” now his 40th Top 10 single on the Country Airplay Charts, in May.
Church, a three-time CMA and six-time ACM winner who also co-wrote the single with Ryan Tyndell and Jeff Hyde, contributes a new second verse and additional harmonies throughout the choruses while adding another layer of emotion to the nostalgic track.
“I heard that my buddy Eric was a writer on ‘We Were,’ so I thought ‘hey, what a cool opportunity for people to get to hear a writer singing,’ I think this guy could be really big!!!!!” Urban offered playfully.
In addition, Urban recently announced a 13-date European tour in 2020, kicking off in Amsterdam on 5/2. The new version of “We Were,” exclusively available on streaming, can be listened to here.
