STATE OF THE STATE: TRIPLE TIGERS
7/22/20

GM Norbert Nix and his team are celebrating a number of milestones, notably Scotty McCreery’s third #1 single in a row (“In Between”), one of six #1 Country singles since the label’s inception. Nix, SVP Promo Kevin Herring and squad (who recently welcomed Raffaella Braun aboard as National Promo Director) expect more action in the near future; breaking artist Gone West is the first new group in three years to breach the Top 25 at Country radio with their debut single, while the hotly anticipated new track from CAM, “Classic,” arrives this month. The crew is also rooting for breakout star Russell Dickerson, who’s a contender for New Male Artist at the ACMs. Fun fact: When Nix and Herring were at Mercury Records back in the day, they both worked Billy Ray Cyrus’ smash “Achy Breaky Heart.” We’re told they can still scoot their boots when the occasion demands it.
