Who might be the halftime performer at
Super Bowl LV? Will there even
be a Super Bowl? If there is, will the cardboard cutouts in the skyboxes have little cardboard toast points with caviar?
We don’t have definitive answers to these questions, but we do know who’s favored to play at halftime. That would be
Taylor Swift, whose odds—according to
Sports Betting Dime—are currently listed as +150, ahead of
Adele (+300) and
Rihanna (+600). The surprise drop of Tay’s acclaimed, top-streaming new
Republic album,
folklore, gave her the edge.
The first things we think of when streaming the intimate, reflective
folklore, we must admit, are emphatically not football, nachos and/or lite beer. But hey, if the the game is played in an empty stadium, maybe the album’s delicate strains will be the optimal accompaniment.
Then again, Taylor has written some sports-friendly anthems and, were she to perform at SBLV, we might expect to hear "Are You Ready for It" (which premiered on the
ESPN College Football Draft) "Bad Blood," "Shake It Off" or "I Knew You Were Trouble."
In other betting news, the odds that a
HITS editor will appear on the weekly
Zoom editorial meeting without pants are now 1 in 3.
Tay, go long!
