Two staples in any true rock fan's calendar, the
Louder Than Life festival and
Riot Fest, both announced impressive lineups on 5/14, featuring such headline talent as
Metallica and
Nine Inch Nails, among many others.
The Louder Than Life extravaganza, the jewel in the
Danny Wimmer Presents crown of rock events, features Metallica headlining two of its four days and performing two unique sets. The 9/23-26 event, which is staged at
Highland Festival Grounds at the
KY Expo Center in Louisville, Ky., features Nine Inch Nails and
Korn as headliners the other two nights. Among those also scheduled to perform:
Judas Priest, Snoop Dogg, Jane’s Addiction, Staind, Rise Against, Mudvayne, Cypress Hill, Machine Gun Kelly,
Anthrax, Gojira, Ghostemane, Seether, Pennywise, Beartooth, The Distillers, Killswitch Engage and many more.
Meanwhile, Riot Fest has announced that
Nine Inch Nails, Faith No More, Devo, Dinosaur Jr., Mr. Bungle and
NOFX have been added to previously announced artists
Smashing Pumpkins, Run the Jewels, the
Pixies, Coheed and Cambria, Taking Back Sunday, Dirty Heads, Lupe Fiasco (performing
The Cool),
Vic Mensa, the
Circle Jerks and again, many more. This comes on the heels of news that
My Chemical Romance would headline the 2022 edition, having pulled out of this year’s show when they postponed their reunion plans. Riot Fest takes place 9/16-19 in Chicago's
Douglas Park. In conclusion: RAWK.
