The
Hella Mega Tour, which like so many hotly anticipated treks was sidelined by the pandemic, is gearing up for U.S. stadiums this summer.
Crush-repped bands
Green Day,
Fall Out Boy and
Weezer will share stages for the distortion-pedal-to-the-metal adventure, starting 7/24 at Dallas’
Globe Life Field.
Live Nation is presenting the 21-city odyssey, set to light up such storied venues as
Dodger Stadium,
Wrigley Field,
Citi Field and
Fenway Park before wrapping up on 9/6 at Seattle's
T-Mobile Park.
Two new shows have been added to the prior itinerary (the updated version of which appears below); they are Columbus, Ohio’s
Crew Stadium on 8/17 and Milwaukee’s
Summerfest on 9/1.
All three headliners—who collectively have done much to keep rock vital over the last couple of decades—have been active ahead of the big road trip. Green Day has dropped a new single, “
Polyanna” (
Warner); FOB will appear on
American Idol’s season finale on 5/23; and Weezer has released
Van Weezer (
Crush Music), which many admirers consider their best work in years. The bands are also slated to join
Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series on 7/16 for perfs and interviews.
