The Recording Academy will honor 12-time
Grammy winner
John Legend with the first Recording Academy Global Impact Award during the inaugural
Black Music Collective event.
Summer Walker will perform. Legendary producer
Jimmy Jam—the first Black chair of the Recording Academy Board of Trustees and a Songwriting Hall of Fame inductee—will speak.
D-Nice will spin throughout the celebration, with
MC Lyte serving as the voice of the evening.
Adam Blackstone is the musical director. Additional participants will be announced later this week.
The Recording Academy Honors Presented by the Black Music Collective will take place on 4/2, the night before the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, at
Resorts World Las Vegas.
