UMP CHINA STRIKES PUB DEAL WITH RYCE

UMP China, a division of UMPG, has closed an exclusive global publishing agreement with RYCE Publishing spanning more than 700 songs, including some of China's biggest pop cuts, from TFBOYS, Jackson Wang, Sitar Tan and Amber Liu.

Also included are the Greater China rights to hundreds of K-pop hits performed by acts like Super Junior, EXO-CBXGOT7, TWICE and more that have been phenomenally popular in China over the years.

UMP China will provide global infrastructure and opportunities for RYCE’s writers and artists to reach new audiences around the world and work with RYCE to grow its roster of songwriters and producers and the projects available to them as it continues to establish itself among the region’s leaders.

Said UMP China MD Joe Fang, “We saw the rise of J-pop three decades ago and its massive influence on audiences across Asia. Now, as we all know, K-pop is a global phenomenon. With China's becoming the sixth-biggest music market in the world, I believe the time of C-pop is here. RYCE Publishing is a central piece of that, and I’m thrilled UMPG will play an instrumental role in supporting it.”

UMPG President of Asia Pacific Andrew Jenkins stated, “Our best-in-class global-administration services combined with the progressive and innovative teams in our Universal Beijing and Shanghai offices will provide RYCE Publishing with the best possible partner for its incredible creative vision. Its remarkable creative drive has led to a huge number of hits and great commercial success for RYCE Publishing so far. I look forward to an even more successful future.”
