Taylor Swift is dominating both digital and physical activity, not only with her latest re-record,
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)—featuring
16 tracks from the deluxe edition of the 2010 release and six from the vault—but her entire catalog.
Twelve hours after going live, the
Republic reiteration holds the #1 and #2 slots at
iTunes and the
Amazon CD and vinyl store, plus the top spot at
Apple Music and Amazon’s digital sales list.
Five songs from the set are in the Top 20 at iTunes songs, and 11 are in the Top 30 at Apple Music, led by “Mine (Taylor’s Version).”
On the physical side, the triple-LP orchid-vinyl offering is #1 at Amazon, followed by the two-CD set.
But wait, there’s more! Not only are fans listening to Swift’s older music, they’re buying it as well.
Tay has another four albums—vinyl versions of
folklore, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), the original
Speak Now and
Reputation—in Amazon’s Top 10.
Five of the top six entries at iTunes albums are Swift catalog titles, with
Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Lover and
Red (Taylor’s Version) joining
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). And another seven albums
—Midnights (3am Edition), reputation, Red (Taylor’s Version With a Message From Taylor), folklore, 1989 and two editions of
evermore—are in the Top 40.
Fans are clearly comparing the two versions of
Speak Now on Apple Music. In addition to the re-recording's presence at #1, the original deluxe edition resides at #9. Swift has six albums total in the Top 40 at Apple Music.
