U.K. CHARTS: REN RUNS TO #1

With debut Sick Boi (The Other Songs) newcomer Ren has his first U.K. Official Albums #1. Over on Singles, Kenya Grace holds steady for a second week at the top.

Welsh artist Ren secured the top spot by shifting almost 6k units more than his closest competitor, Rick Astley’s ninth set, Are We There Yet? (BMG). The latter finishes the week at #2, while Troye Sivan’s Something to Give Each Other (EMI) is also new, at #4.

BRITs Rising Star winner Holly Humberstone is at #5 with her debut, Paint My Bedroom Black (Polydor).

The Streets’ first album of new material in nearly 13 years, The Darker the Shadow the Brighter the Light (Rhino), is #7. A 50th anniversary re-issue of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon (Rhino) returns to the U.K. Top 10 for the first time since ’93, at #8.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, Grace’s “Strangers” (FFRR/Major Recordings) remains #1 with 4.8m streams this week.

cassö, RAYE and D-Block Europe’s “Prada” (Ministry of Sound) is just 800 sales behind at #2. Tyla’s “Water” (RCA) is up three to #4 as “Baddadan” (EMI) by Chase & Status f/Flowdan, IRAH and Trigga & Takura rises six to #5.

“Asking” (Solotoko) by Sonny Fodera, MK and Clementine Douglas is up three to #7. Mitski has her first U.K. Top 10 with “My Love Mine All Mine” (Dead Oceans) at #8.
