Sony Music U.S. Latin has inked Argentine rap sensation
Trueno. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, the 21-year-old has become one of the hottest new figures on the Latin American and Spanish hip-hop scenes.
Trueno's journey began with prestigious victories in the 2019
Red Bull Freestyle competition and the
FMS (Freestyle Master Series). That momentum carried over into Trueno's debut album in 2020,
Atrevido, which features standout track "Mamichula" w/
Nicki Nicole &
Bizarrap, currently charting in
Spotify's global Top 200.
SML U.S. President
Alex Gallardo shared his excitement on the signing: "Trueno is the new head of Latin American hip-hop. At only 21-years-old he is ready to establish himself as the leader of this genre in Spanish and from Sony U.S. Latin we welcome him and want to offer him the platform to continue to grow and take his music to the whole world."
Sony Music Hispanic South America President
Damian Amato added, "From the day I heard him for the first time when he was just 18, I knew he would be the Argentine artist who would achieve greater transcendence in the world, not only for his music, but for his message, ethics and values.
