TIKTOK HELPS GIGI PEREZ "SAIL" TO STARDOM

Gigi Perez, whose “Sailor Song” charted a course to the top at TikTok, is parlaying that triumph into success beyond the platform.

The New Jersey native, who dropped the track independently via Merlin before signing last month with Island's Justin Eshak and Imran Majid, has already topped the U.K. Official Singles Chart.

In no small part thanks to 3.8m TikTok creations, "Sailor Song" is also #4 at Spotify U.S. and #8 globally.

Perez addressed the explosion of the queer love story in a “thank you” video (below) recently posted to her 935k TikTok followers.

The artist will sail onto the road this season, supporting girl in red's I Have To See You Again tour, starting 11/23 at Dallas’ The Factory in Deep Ellum.

Meanwhile, the only thing HITS knows how to sail is the toy boat in our bathtub.
