Chappell Roan will step up for a good cause when she headlines the 33rd annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party in West Hollywood on 3/2.
John has been a vocal supporter of the next-generation queer standard-bearer, who's up for six Grammy Awards. "We’re honored to welcome the bold and authentic Chappell Roan, whose artistry embodies the power of music to inspire change, as this year’s performer," said Sir Elton, pictured with Roan in a photo taken by his husband David Furnish.
An awards-season highlight, the evening will be co-hosted by Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning actress Jean Smart, Emmy winner Sheryl Lee Ralph, Emmy and Tony winner Neil Patrick Harris and actor-author-chef David Burtka.
All funds raised will support the foundation’s commitment to preventing new HIV transmissions, tackling discrimination, expanding education, challenging harmful laws and providing compassionate care to vulnerable communities worldwide.
