The star-studded
FireAid benefit concert is expected to surpass $100m in funds raised to aid those affected by the devastating L.A. wildfires. But stand by for a final figure because the dollars are still rolling in—operators are still standing by. It’s easy to donate at
FireAidLA.org, so don’t hesitate.
The event has inspired untold generosity from a wide array of donors—including substantial gifts from the
Azoff family, the
Eagles,
Andrew Hauptman and
Ellen Bronfman Hauptman and
U2.
Steve and
Connie Ballmer matched every pledge made during the broadcast—which drew 50m+ viewers on a staggering 28 streaming platforms—and operating costs were offset by the
L.A. Clippers.
FireAid was born of a collaboration among
Shelli and
Irving Azoff and the Azoff family,
Live Nation and the Clippers, with
Joel Gallen of
Tenth Planet serving as executive producer and
Rick Krim as talent producer. And man, did they pull it off.
And now, a word from their sponsors.
