The thoroughly magnetic Cautious Clay shared his newest track, “Reasons,” today (12/5). Written with Tobias Jesso Jr. and Clay's co-producer, Hudson Mohawk, the single is layered with genre-blending elements that particularly highlight his velvety vocals and an almost gospel-like chorus.
Earlier this year, Clay dropped Blood Type, which included his career-propelling track “Cold War.” Now, he’s coming off a performance at the TIDAL X BROOKLYN event, NPR’s Tiny Desk, sold-out headline shows and Pitchfork Paris. The alt/r&b singer is also gearing up for a 2019 tour, hitting the East and West Coast before a string of EU dates.
“Reasons” is the first taste of a forthcoming EP, which we can expect early next year. And it serves as a sonic shift for Clay.
