Capitol Records has hired two new senior vice presidents of marketing:
Ray Alba, formerly a PR exec at
Epic Records, and
Nathan Sheppard, erstwhile Label Relations Manager at
YouTube Music.
They will report to CMG President
Arjun Pulijal and be based at the Tower.
“Ray and Nathan share the artist-first ethos that lies at the very heart of the new CMG, and they bring a wealth of perspective and experience to their new positions,” Pulijal said. “They have each conceived and executed some of the most innovative campaigns the industry has seen in recent years, and I couldn’t be happier that they’ll be devoting their abilities and energies to Capitol Records.”
Alba was SVP of Publicity at Epic, where his projects included
Future’s
High Off Life and
21 Savage’s
Savage Mode II. Prior to joining Epic in 2018, he was VP of Publicity/Head of Urban Publicity at
Interscope Geffen A&M Records, from 2015 through 2018.
Sheppard began at YouTube Music in 2015 and was most recently Senior Label Relations Manager on the West Coast. His undertakings have spanned activations for
Paul McCartney’s
Live From Grand Central Station,
Katy Perry’s four-day
Witness Worldwide livestream and
Olivia Rodrigo’s
Sour Prom YouTube film.
