We may be contending with some June gloom here at
HITS HQ, but
Island is hot. The House of
Majid and
Eshak now owns the top two spots on
Spotify's U.S. chart and the #1 and #3 positions on the global chart thanks to bona fide breakout
Sabrina Carpenter, whose new single "Please Please Please" takes the top stateside berth, followed by her prior monster, "Espresso." "Please" also sits at #1 at Apple Music, where "Espresso" is Top 5. Her hotly anticipated new album,
Short n' Sweet, is due on 8/23.
Carpenter (pictured with guitar) was part of a sizable Island posse at the
Governors Ball over the weekend, which included fellow hot rookie
Chappell Roan (also pictured) and rock luminaries
The Killers. Roan's "Good Luck, Babe" (from her sizzling set
The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess) is currently Top 15 on Spot USA and Top 25 on the global chart. The inventive artist had five songs on the Spot's viral rundown simultaneously this month; unsurprisingly, she drew an
enormous crowd at the aforementioned Ball, where her Statue of Liberty attire
made a freedom-lovin' splash.
In other Island news,
Bon Jovi is celebrating its 16th album,
FOREVER, not to mention its 40th anniversary as a band, a milestone that was marked with a party and performance at
JBJ's in Nashville. See below for a snap of that as well.

The eternally handsome
Jon Bon Jovi, flanked by Island co-bosses
Imran Majid and
Justin Eshak, reports that he has now seen 28.6 million faces and rocked them all.
Republic promo hitter
Ayelet Schiffman,
Ronnie Vannucci of The Killers, Island's
Jay Schumer, Killers frontman
Brandon Flowers, and Island's Eshak,
Lauren Schneider and
Shahendra Ohneswere are captured here demonstrating that the impromptu rock 'n' roll photo op is not dead. Cool folding chairs, you guys!
