Primary Wave has inked a major new deal with pop legends
The Four Seasons, the multi-decade hitmakers who inspired the Broadway monster
Jersey Boys. The 10-year, multimillion-dollar strategic partnership brings the catalog of
Frankie Valli and his group (who have been inducted into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the
Grammy Hall of Fame and most other halls of fame you could name) into the hallowed halls of
Larry Mestel.
The band’s hits include “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Sherry,” “Working My Way Back to You,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Let’s Hang On,” “Rag Doll,” “December 1963 (Oh, What a Night)” and countless other songs that are now stuck in your head just because we mentioned them.
In addition to the sync, digital, licensing, name-and-likeness and other exploitation opportunities opened up by the deal, Primary Wave retains the option to acquire a partnership interest in the band’s works.
Valli enthused that Primary Wave “will help ensure our music lives on,” while bandmate
Bob Gaudio described the company as “people who will always put our music first.” For his part, Mestel gushed, “I have been a huge fan of both Frankie and Bob since I was a kid. Their music has had a huge impact on people’s lives, and we welcome them to the Primary Wave family of icons.”
The Four Seasons' material joins PW's impressive trove of classics, including works by
