While you were watching the Patriots pound the Browns Sunday afternoon,
BTS and
Ed Sheeran snared top honors at the
2021 MTV European Music Awards during a live, in-person show in Budapest that was broadcast on
MTV to 180 countries.
BTS was the biggest winner, earning trophies for Best Pop, Best Group, Best K-Pop and Biggest Fans. Sheeran won Best Artist and Best Song for “Bad Habits.”
Italian rock gods and
Eurovision 2021 song winners
Måneskin won Best Rock and while accepting the award, lead singer
Damiano David threw some shade at the haters. “People usually told us that we were not going to make it with our music—well, I guess you were wrong,” he said. If only he'd added "Ciao"—it would have been the perfect Roman mic drop.
Saweetie—who did a bang-up job as host and performer—won Best New, while
Lil Nas X took home the Best Video award, for “MONTERO (Call Me by Your Name).”

In honor of the setting,
Bruce Gillmer helped himself to some delicious goulash.
