Weezer is heading to the Great White Way with an innovative idea rarely seen on Broadway: a different show every night.
The Crush Music-managed outfit’s new SZNZproject—four EPs corresponding to the seasons—will provide the backbone for four of their shows at The Broadway Theatre 9/13-18, with a different EP performed each night plus a deep dive into the catalog. The fifth evening will see a mix of SZNZ and Weezer fan faves from the previous four nights. Tickets go on sale Friday.
The announcement of Weezer's Broadway stint follows the band's eighth #1 at Alternative Radio, Spring’s “A Little Bit of Love.” The seven-track SZNZ: Summer is out now.
Currently in Europe, the quartet will also be playing Outside Lands in San Francisco on 8/7 and the Firefly Festival in Dover, Del., the third weekend of September.
Before battling TSA lines and the tedious removal of chainmail to get through security at LAX, the band performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
