The
Recording Academy’s L.A. chapter has partnered with
EA Games and
Disney Music Group for "A Spotlight on the Music From Electronic Arts," 6pm PT on 9/19 at
Walt Disney Studios.
The event will take an in-depth look at original and licensed music featured in award-winning properties like
STAR WARS JEDI: SURVIVOR, MADDEN NFL, FIFA/FC and
THE SIMS.

The festivities will also include a discussion moderated by EA Worldwide Executive and President of Music
Steve Schnur. Panelists include
THE SIMS &
FC music supervisor
Cybele Pettus,
MADDEN NFL music supervisor
Raphaella Lima,
STAR WARS JEDI: SURVIVOR composers
Gordy Haab and
Stephen Barton,
STAR WARS JEDI: SURVIVOR audio director
Nick Laviers and S
TAR WARS JEDI: SURVIVOR audio mixer
Alan Meyerson.
The critical acclaim and
Grammy buzz surrounding the Schnur-produced
JEDI original score ST (via
Ken Bunt's
Disney Music Group), composed by Haab and Barton and mix-engineered by Meyerson, has already lit up like the proverbial light saber. Could a nom also be in the cards for the accompanying songs compilation
Sounds From the Galactic Skylanes (also via DMG), on which Schnur served as music supervisor? We are trying to read the tea leaves, but this cup appears to be filled with coffee.
In any case, Steve has promised us we can help him beta-test a new game. It's called SILENCE.
