In the first major news of the UMG East restructuring since it was announced, word has leaked that Natina Nimene will oversee Urban promotion for the company's newly reorganized East Coast cluster of labels, riding herd on the Urban promo teams for Def Jam, Island, Mercury and Republic from her New York office.
The highly respected Nimene, who most recently served as EVP promotion & artist relations at Def Jam, has earned major cred in promo circles for her artist-whispering chops.
