American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special, which will air 10/6 on
CBS and
Paramount+.
In lieu of a proper awards presentation, which will return in May 2025, the artists will participate in salutes to key moments in music and AMAs history.
Paisley will honor the late
Charley Pride, Khan will pay tribute to female artists, Knight will reprise her 1974 AMAs performance of "Midnight Train to Georgia," Green Day will play its chart-topping "Dilemma" and Hudson will cover a
Whitney Houston tune. Brown will offer a medley of "classic and current" country songs, Carey will play a medley from
The Emancipation of Mimi in honor of its 20th anniversary, RAYE will offer her spin on
James Brown's "It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World" and Stray Kids will nod to the history of boy bands.
Carrie Underwood,
Gloria Estefan,
Jennifer Lopez and
Jimmy Kimmel will also appear.
The AMAs are owned and produced by
