It's been a rollercoaster year for
TikTok, what with
fighting off POTUS' bogus executive orders, but the hottest app in the world still managed to became the most influential platform for driving music discovery, breaking hit songs and serving up unsigned talent.
The
ByteDance-owned juggernaut unveiled its year-end lists today (12/2), anchored by the 2020 Top 10. New Zealand sensation
Jawsh 685 comes in at #1 with his global smash "Savage Love–Remix" f/
Jason Derulo (
Columbia). The track inspired more than 54m video creations. Also making the list were
Travis Scott & Jackboys' "Out West,"
Doja Cat's "Say So" and
Saweetie's "Tap In."
Some notable songs that
didn't make the Top 10 include
The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights," which nonetheless produced the second-most-used hashtag (#BlindingLights) on the platform, and
Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams," catapulted back onto the charts by the #2 Viral Video of the year, from
@420DoggFace208. Take in the totality of the TikTok 2020 Top 10 below.
