FIREAID: $90M AND COUNTING FOR L.A. RELIEF EFFORTS

It's been 72 hours since the show wrapped, but the music industry is still buzzing about FireAid, which is rumored to have raised $90m (and counting) for Los Angeles wildfire relief efforts.

Produced by the Azoff family, Live Nation and AEG in response to the disaster that killed 26, destroyed more than 10,000 homes and caused an estimated $200b in damage, FireAid truly felt like a moment of unity and healing.

Throughout the six-hour show at Intuit Dome and the Forum, which was streamed on every platform imaginable, egos were checked at the door in acknowledgment of the long, slow process of rebuilding Los Angeles.

The event was highlighted by innumerable superstar performances and collaborations, including from Billie Eilish with Green Day, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash onstage as a duo for the first time in 42 years, No Doubt's third set in a decade and a pseudo Nirvana reunion with guest vocalists St. Vincent, Kim Gordon and Joan Jett.

Ballmer Group Philanthropy co-founders Steve and Connie Ballmer, who are matching the donations that came in during the live broadcast, made an initial pledge of $15m.

The artist community also ponied up big bucks, with the Eagles donating $2.5m to the cause and U2 chipping in with another $1m.

Whatever the total, FireAid was a potent reminder of music's ability to uplift and inspire. Relive the whole extravaganza below. To donate, click here.
